It contains swearing, I think we're all smart enough to know whats behind the stars (lavalife wouldnt let me submit my profile with swearing so I had to edit it). It was written because they removed the word 'nerd' from my profile ruining my joke at the end. I wrote it with humour (I'm imitating anger, here) but its still true. The point was; I'm looking for a girl who is open minded and vulgar and s**t - How can I come off like that if I can't even say 'nerd?'

Lavalife, you removed the word Nerd? You guys are the most PC, bed time special morons I've ever had 'edit' my s**t. Can I say 'poo' on this website? Is that allowed? ****, you PC bastards. Lavalife is a ****ing ret*d! How can I attract anyone if I can't be myself in my ****ing profiles? I have to come off all p**** like you and your "standards." I can't ****ing say "nerd" - how many ****ing kids are reading this???? The minimum age is 18, everyone here swears, they ***k, many smoke, they do WEED oh my god, the wonder kill drug! CALL THE ****ING FBI. SAVE THE PLANET (BY NOT LETTING US SAY NERD ON LAVALIFE) ONE PIECE AT A ****ING TIME, you stupid f*gs.

That is *ay. That is just ****ing ret*d. Whoever at lavalife removed that needs to feel real proud about being a ****ing hero. You truely are the best.

Way to reach out and do your part you stupid c*nt. Here's your new slogan:

Lavalife*, for artificial people!

*We edit you and remove the 'you' from your profile.

(P.S. I wrote this out of humour, but you guys truely are ****ing weak. Whoever is in charge of being a p*ssy there is doing a good job)

I generally think if you want to get a point across, it's more efficient to do it civic.
If I got that message, I wouldn't take you seriously.
It's a really stupid word to censor. Every word is a really stupid word to censor IMO.
I don't think that the recipient saw the humor in it either.

But, sometimes, you gotta vent.
I feel bad about the person who got the steam in his face though...

Hmm, see text protrays humour inefficiently, thats why I stated it. I could have sent a nice email with some butterfly images attached to it but that would have stolen from me:
1) I don't do that
2) I know how to effectively talk to people (books) but this case I didn't care. I realized that people work at lavalife, they probably don't care about working there, and they got this email, they probably printed it out and showed others there while hitting the 'reject' button to my profile.

Seriously, I doubt they really care. If I got this email, I'd be nodding to it and laughing but then again, I think things are funny (Chapelle style, Chris Farley style, etc). Truth is, whoever DID censor nerd is adding to a fire they shouldnt be. Shame on them.

The only point I was getting across was that they censor - I believe censorship to be amoung the worst things you can do to another person.

The word "nerd" is pejorative, and they probably don't want you to use it because it can hurt people's feelings. E.g., a girl whose profile says, "No nerds!"

I think people need to lighten up, if thats the case (which I can see it being^^^ ). If i said I was a nerd and someone didn't want me chances are I don't want her. I'm picky, brother! Its not that they dont want me but I dont want them, either, I just dont feel the need to tell the world :D

'Nerd', 'idiot', stupid' etc. all have the potential to be really upsetting. Better to be safe.

I've read about way too many people with AS who have been searching for a girlfriend all their lives without luck.

I think it's easy not to take it seriously if you're an optimist about finding a relationship. But if your problems are more severe, such as not being able to feel natural in a social situation at all, it's hard to take it lightly when you're called a nerd. It's the same old slap in the face.

Which is fine but
a) I called MYSELF a nerd
b) I didnt call anyone else a nerd
c) The context I used it in was out of humour (that particular joke did not contain profanity like me letter)

Its not a slap in the face, its the pussification of this world - Censorship WILL cause damage. You can't try and please everyone with good intentions. I'm in the same boat "nerds" are so they are singing the same story I am. Some people are actually ATTRACTED to nerds, so calling oneself a nerd can be a good thing. Like I (think I) said, if they (girls) think nerd is a negative word, why would any true nerd want to date them? They are just letting a word get you down - This falls under 'you shouldn't care what others think.' Thats not just an expression, its the truth.
