can the popularity contest threads stop?

[how would the members feel about having a single such thread as a sticky in the members section? The title could be based on one of the existing threads, maybe "What members have really stood out for you?", rather then "who do you like" etc.
If such a sticky thread was established no more "popularity threads" would be allowed in the Random Discussion or Members Discussion forums. Any new threads inadvertently created by members would be removed and their posts moved to the sticky thread in members.
How do the members feel about this as a possible practical solution?

sounds reasonable.
only concern i can think of is that with it stickied the people's names will not sink into the archives if anyone is concerned about privacy. but if it's in the member's section that probably wouldn't bother anyone.
for my part i have had bookmarked "view posts since last visit" because i like to see what's new, but that also brings up topics like "women and anal" and etc in the adult section which i don't care to see. so i realize i have to go back to the old fashioned method of actually just looking in sections that interest me.

But like I said, it's all an illusion to honestly trust what said in such threads to begin with, and if you cannot feel confidence about yourself without relying on others, you'll never be truly confident at all.
someone better and more tactful at such ventures than i ought to create a thread full of ideas for confidence building and such, and sticky that, maybe in the social skills section. building confidence isn't something that gets talked about all that much when people are having difficulties. but it's key.
