Lately I've been really depressed in general. I have had a few changes in my schooling, and am currently making yet another transition from homeschooling to private school. I didn't even get any credits for this year. I've been sick some of the time, but the majority of the blame is on me. I have no motivation to do any of the work whatsoever. I don't know how to make myself care. I don't have any goals or plans for anything in life. Ugh. How to I fix this? The psychologist I went to knew very little of Asperger's, much less that females could have it. My mom made a couple calls and got me scheduled with a psychiatrist that diagnosed me, but he lives too far away for me to see him on a regular basis. I'm just so tired of sitting in my house drowning out all my thoughts with video games and metal music :( Thanks for your advice.

I joined clubs at school and acted in school plays and made friends by doing sports and music. That helped a lot for me.

Motivation spreads, so if you dont have it now you will be able to get it from inspiring people. If you dont have any of these people irl then go on the internet. To get motivation you need information, this isnt going to come from video games or movies (unless you watch the right movies and interact with the right people through video games). Ipower helped me a lot in getting inspiriation etc, ted talks can be nice too. Also try making online friends this helps a lot.

What Alex said. You need to start somewhere. Only emo grass cuts itself.

I have a rather difficult time with self motivation, however, it seems to me that what is needed is a strong interest (natural or forced) in a field similar to that of which you're having trouble with. It also seems to me that setting goals would be good.

I try to remind myself that if I don't do something with my life then I probably won't ever be happy and probably won't ever be able to find a girlfriend. That seems to be my motivation, girlfriend, nice house and nice things. The more money you have the more you can do. You can choose what you want to do.

The more you follow through with your plans (even small ones) the easier following through becomes. Sounds obvious, but its crucial. Also, if you don't have an aversion to medication, SSRI's have had a huge impact in my life, in-so-far as keeping me from falling back into demotivational states.
