Just curious if anyone else is studying Law...

I'll be starting Law in a few days, I got into a Juris Doctor program recently. I'm doing just the one unit for now, partly to see how I go because it's a bit different to what I was studying before [a Master of Social Work; didn't finish, long story] and partly because I want to find a part-time job. I'm a bit excited and anxious at the same time.

I have a JD degree.

DON'T DO IT.

If you want to practice law (the only just reason to bother going for the JD), go get on with a firm...even if you must volunteer...and spend some time working there to see if you would want to spend the next 30 or so years of your life doing this.

I can assure you that what you think you are getting into does not match the reality unless you were brought up in a family of attorneys.

More so, that JD degree is like an albatross around your neck. Good luck finding a good job OUTSIDE of law with it on your resume. :(
