religions are already proven wrong?
Do know that I don't intend this article to offend anyone, but lets be truthful here.... When they found fossils in the ground to prove evolution, the logical credibility of religion (if there ever was any) went right out the wondow. Now, I am by no means attacking anyone's right to believe what they see fit to believe. But, I do think anyone who claims to adhere to a religion is not a logical thinker. What happened, I think, is something like this:
- people are taught to believe in their respective faith growing up, and become emotionally attached to it.
- evidence comes along to prove that all the religions are false, but people, being emotional thinkers, can't handle the truth. So the battle between science (truth) and religion begins.... Those unable to accept the truth, teach their al-ready proven lies to their kids... Yet, even though sub-consciously the parent knows the religion is incorrect, they kinda force themselves to believe in it anyways. This is a survival strategy that goes way back in the human gene pools. Even if what they were taught is incorrect, by making themselves believe in it anyhow, it gives them motivation and strength to carry on through life.
But, like I said, this wasn't intended as an attack on religion, more of it being a logical analysis of how this phenomenon works. Some good things have came from religion, such as moral fabric (since most people don't wanna think for themselves and find their own moral paths)..... I mean atheism has in many ways became just as much of a cult as any religion though. So many atheist will also use things like eugenics and sociology as an excuse for immoral behavior. But yeah, I'm curious to see what kind of input i'll get from this post. Please do not start a flame war between religion and atheism though. I would like this to be a civil discussion.
Are you attacking "religion" or "belief" because they, in my opinion, are 2 separate things.
Religion has come to mean 'cult' to me, these days, and what religion WAS ain't IT anymore.
I compare 2 "religions;" Buddhism and Christianity. Now, one uses meditation and preaches almost everything Christainity does, but its more 'open' and it doesn't necessarily rely on a 'god.' It is MORE open to the possibility of god, where as Christianity believes in god and will have 'no other.'
Does God exist? Well, who knows - thats why it SHOULD be left open. Now, if you think of the universe's creation, both science and "religion" fail and a "God" seems logical but lets not get into that.
I do agree and believe in evolution but I feel thats only part of the story. It could be very well that a 'God' created this universe and placed some form of 'life' into it. Now, lets say we were able to make a universe 'mathematically' and we are very close to cloning, so lets assume we can 'create' life, essentially. We do those 2 things, are we "God?" Maybe to what we created, we'd be a "God," yes, but at the same time, although we created that life and that universe, we do NOT control each individual life form. We can 'manipulate it,' maybe by 'moving it' or 'pushing it' but we cannot 'mentally' control it. I think this is where people's reliance on 'God' fails as he cannot know what you are thinking (if the above scenario explains the existence of God in any way).
People blame God for all sorts of things, but if WE eventually became a God to someone else, they would most likely blame US for anything wrong that happens.
So, back onto my nonsense here, God places life into his universe, any form. Now, evolution takes over and as the environment changes, life forms change, etc. This way of 'looking at things' would allow BOTH a creator AND evolution to exist. I do believe that science and "religion" or 'Belief in God' will collide eventually into 1.
However, none of this explains the body/mind connection or how that above cycle would have ever started (God creates life1, life1 creates life2, life1 becomes God to life2, life2 creates life3, life2 becomes God to life3, etc). The spelling of "life" seems weird to me for some reason. There, now it doesn't. what was that about? Any of that make sense?
Science never really failed, man failed. Lemme explain, humans are not perfect beings, we all make mistakes. And often, where science has "failed", it wasn't that there was no scientific way to prove or disprove whatever it was the scientist wanted to prove/disprove, it just means he didn't explain it correctly. Science made man, man didn't make science.
I do believe there might be a god out there, but I personally do not believe that it would be an actual being, with a conscience. Rather I believe it would be a nameless, shapeless, thoughtless energy that would operate kinda like a super computer. It would have no conscience of right and wrong, or good and evil.... It operates on a complex system of mathematics and physics beyond what most people could even begin to comprehend. Kinda like much of what is considered "voodoo" or "black magic". It's all dealing with energy flow, and the transfer of molescules.
You have stated, as well, that you see religion and science possibly coming together in the future. This tells me you are not entirely atheist, but not a believer of religion either (perhaps agnostic?), but you can be open minded and rational at the same time. This is definately a rare characteristic you and I share.... You should read about Einstein's Theory of Everything.

that link was a friend's of mine on myspace. I can't find the usual link that explains it but his site explains it just as good. It's a unified theory of science and spirituality, or what I prefer to call para-science.
lol, Theory of 'everything'.. kind of funny
I dont believe in 'organised' religion but any 'belief' that stemmed from meditation and 'nothingness' which, arguably, all religion derived from (and oddly enough, dropped), I do believe in. Yes, god could be anything from 'nothing' (literally) to a being of some sort, in my example above. Who REALLY knows, no one, so killing in the name of potentially 'nothing' is kind of stupid ![]()
Well one of the fundamentals of the TOE is knowing that we know nothing. It's really complicated and difficult to explain, but it's a deeply scientific theory that links many fields of knowledge. Like the New World Order can be explained through eugenics and sociology and that kinda stuff...... The alien astronaut theory makes alot of since to me..... I met a lady when I was about 15 (over 12 yrs ago) who worked in FEMA undercover for the fringe yet constitutional citizen militias (I never got involved in the militias though). She showed me evidence of a government plan to take over, otherwise known as the NWO, that would begin here in the states.... The goal of this is a 1 world dictatorship. The UN "peacekeepers" with the blue helmets? Theyr not so peaceful, there goes your one world army.
Over the years I investigated it and I connected the dots to find the higher organization, the Illuminati (working under the vatican).... Bear in mind this was during the Clinton years, though obviously American "leaders" had sold out as far back as Lyndon B. Johnson's presidency.
With that being said, I concluded through logical analysis that the alien astronaut theory holds alot of water. It is my strong theory that the bloodline of the Illuminati (which I've traced all the way back to ancient Egypt) was likely a hybrid race of humans and aliens who were made their ambassadors here on earth. "Man was created in god's image", in other words our creators look just like us, and were created just like us. All religions were ufo cover-ups, and many of the "miracles" were advanced technology. Man was taught to worship aliens under the guise of "god(s)(esses)" over many years and across the globe. Speaking through knowledge of eugenics, all life on earth is made evil, but, this does not mean we cannot evolve into a higher state of being and overcome our evil nature (though most never will). Though, there may be other races of alien beings as well, intrinsically evil... While it is possible that our parent race had evolved beyond evil, it is very highly doubtful that greys have. However, greys have been reported to possibly have telekenetic and telepathic abilities.

I know people can sometimes fabricate pics but I don't think this one was fabricated though. I'm usually very skeptical about using online resources with these kinds of things.

While I believe in Grays, I denounce that they are evil on a few logical reasons:
1) I believe intelligence spawns peace (there is a buddhism thread thats fresh right now that'll help with that).
2) If they were evil, they'd have destroyed us already (and easily).
Yes, this thought did occur to me during one of my meditations. ![]()
But just because they haven't wiped us out doesn't neccessarily mean they aren't evil. There are different kinds of intelligence, and intelligence and morality are not always in a package deal. Besides, they may have a good reason for not killing us. Perhaps our planet is an expirement?
i mean think about it, so far that we've seen, we're the only planet that has:
1. Multiple terrains and climates
2. Multiple forms of life living on the surface
3. an ozone layer (even though our's is deminishing)
