Lying about yourself really isn't a ticket for getting people to like and trust you. He's welcome here, sure, but please no lies.

i would like those of you that honestly belive i am here to do reserach and abuse the community to consider something....if i was really going to do that would i post an introduction....would i tell anyone here anything about myslef....i would think i would be more likely to keep my mouth shut post rarely and leech in that matter....if i was that kind of person.

is this the kind of reaction i am going to get whenever i post here?

becuause my spelling and grammar are not likely to become great overnight ...and i am the kind of person that is open and honest....is that againist some sort of unspoken rule........if we do not trust each other to speak the truth what is the point?

just some thoughts ....to those of you that have been nice i appericate the welcome. :)

No. I am appalled and ashamed that our community gave you such a cold welcome. Please accept my apologies for behavior of some of our members. I would like to assure you that this is not the way most of us think.

Everyone, Dragon2fire has clearly specified that he is an NT and the purpose of his presence on this site is to understand and help his aspie friend. This is a noble goal, and I welcome Dragon wholeheartedly. I do not find any basis for accusations that some members have flung at Dragon. Attitudes "he must be evil because he's an NT" are the worst kind of intolerance, and I won't stand aside watching them flying. Members who have problem with Dragon, please discontinue attacks on him, and direct your grievances to moderators.

Welcome Dragon! This is a great site and you'll enjoy it and learn a lot. Chat is every Saturday Night. Sorry they have been treating you badly very childish they are being and you should be respected. You can also click the ignore button if anyone disrespects you. I love Psychology, I took a college course of that last semester. It is interesting and a Psych Major is not used to steal information like members here say. :D

I'm not sure what's making people think you're lying about being a Psych major (educational standards for literacy have made strange things happen in recent years so I can almost understand about your spelling), but I have to say that we're not normally this defensive against new members. In fact, I defy your accusers to tell us, with original evidence to back themselves up, why you're really here. Until they can do that, I welcome you.

Plenty of NTs have ties to people like us, and with autism and Asperger's being the tangled web they are, it's only natural for them to seek information on the subject. Obviously, we're a great source of that information. Since you've mentioned you're here for a friend, I feel a need to ask: is this friend on the spectrum? If so, we'd like to meet this friend here on the forums eventually. If we knew more, our more accusatory members might feel more comfortable letting their guard down. I think that's the real reason for the distrust some of the members have for you.

I hope your welcome gets a little warmer once we've squared that question away.

There's no need to accuse him to begin with. If there is problems with his credibility, than that's where the Moderators come in, they will take care of it. You are not a Moderator.

Why does it matter if he's lying or not, point is, he hasn't done anything wrong and if does, it will be dealt with later.

Welcome to WP - From WP's most hated member. (me)

I'd like to put in my $.02 and agree with the sentiment that people have treated dragon2fire way too harshly for no real reason. I know that people may have certain opinions about psychology and psychiatry, but guys many people in psychology are quite cool. I minored in psychology in undergrad, and I've taken many psychology classes over the years. I know many great psychologists, and truly without the field we would have no notion of understanding how people think and act.

Dragon2fire is actually a very amiable and considerate person, and there is actually a reason why he has trouble in spelling. Now I think it would be better for him to talk about it rather than me, but let's just that he can't help the difficulty in spelling any easier than aspies can suddenly not have difficulties in relating to others or self-absorbing. So, please keep an open mind to others' differences.
