I have just found out that somebody, from this forum, has been sending out untruthful pms about me. This is not acceptable. I do not see any point in asking them to admit it, let alone stop it. I really do not see what the mods could possibly do about it, but I feel I have every right to ask that, if you have received one of these PMs, you consider sending a copy of it to me by PM or by email ( zeraeph@gmail.com ) so that I can have a fuller understanding of the extent and scope of the untruthfulness in these messages in order to have some chance of defending myself from them.

If it's a private message conversation between two people I don't think there's a lot you can do about it.

I haven't received any spam pms defaming you & I'm sure the mods could do something about it if loads of people started getting them.

I indeed got a PM from somebody but whether the WP TOS allows me to send you a copy is the question.

I know that Lene, I would just like to know what is actually being said to see if there is anything I can do about, at least, some of it...the probably isn't, but there is no sense in not even trying.



Good point...I haven't got a clue about that...I think morally it should be ok to let someone know what it being said, but "morally" and "TOS" can be two very different things...

That is a problem, and I do not want to ask anyone to break rules, but as I do not need to know who is sending the PMs, I just need to know the untruths they spread, it is perfectly fine to just PM me the gist of it.

It is also, of course, perfectly ok to email me anonymously.

There is also the possibility that people, from this forum, have received messages along these lines from the same source on other media, which are most definately not covered by WP TOS.

Apart from which, I don't think we have ever really come across each other before have we Blue Bean (I can be a bit socially oblivious, and if I have been, forgive me)?

It staggers and frightens me that there is someone out there who has the time, energy and level of obsession to devote to misrepresenting me to virtual strangers.

I know, it's so inconceivable. I mean you spent hours doing the same to me, cornflake, tambourine-man, aghogday, vermontsavant et al. but to imagine the same thing being done to you is inconceivable.

I mean the only reason you stopped posting after saying that you would stop being on wrong planet five times was because vermontsavant told you that you were causing a problem, and that so ranked with your pride that you then decided to leave wrong planet permanently. Then you come back not much later to make some haunting accusations about you being misrepresented.

Say, is your little clique at AFF still making false rumours about Tambourine-Man involving his girlfriend? I have been sent a few IMs through somewhat oblivious people involving unfounded rumours that I can only say would be made up by a person who has an obsessive amount of time and energy.

You know some day this forum will be free of autism speaks and anti-autism speaks ideologues.

Is that an oblique, and rather perverse example of the kind of PMs you have received about me?

Because I do not make a lot of private contact with people at all, by PM, or email, here or anywhere else, and when I do:

* I have honestly never seen the slightest reason to even mention Cornflake to anyone in private, to the very best of my recollection - I don't know the first thing about him to say except that has has a very pronounced bias against me, for no real reason I am aware of...apart from that I only even know he is a guy because it is on his profile.
* I have mentioned Aghogday, but only in passing, apart from the couple of times I have mentioned him with you making equal and similar mention...
* I don't think I have ever mentioned vermontsavant at all unless to remark his good natured, gullibility and the pronounced bias it has lead to.
* This may come as a considerable disappointment but I try to avoid discussing you at all in private - what's to discuss? In fact, the last time I mentioned you was to express concern that someone might have tried to do something rather unfair to you. I would have told you my concerns in private but, I was far from certain about them and I feared it might set your silliness off again.
* I have said significantly less about TM in private than I have in public. What more could there be to add?

The short version is that anything I have to say about any of you has been said right out in public, where you can see it and address it should you wish to do so.

If anyone claims to have received PMs from me saying anything else about you, or anyone, then that is (almost certainly, barring an unlikely level of extreme misunderstanding) mischeviously untrue in itself, and the best thing, you, or anyone can do is consider letting me know, at least, the gist of what has been said, if not the identity of the person who said it.

I wouldn't know. Most of the oblique and perverse examples of PMs I have received come from you.

Even more annoyingly is that you try and warp what I say in to being a completely PM based thing when the whole debacle involving you is PM and on this forum.

...and the last PM you received from me would be round about the end of August, it is now Mid November, almost 3 months later.

Not long before you said that you'd leave Wrong Planet permanently until you got an ill-deserved apology from me or vermontsavant. But still you're here.

And more to the point I still said the truth.

...and you misunderstood, I did not require nor even want any apology from you at all. I just wanted your constant ad hominem attacks on me, whatever I tried to post, to be appropriately discouraged in accord with the same rules applied to everyone else.

I feel I had better point out, before he succeeds in indicting himself by implication, that I have no reason to suppose that the untruthful pms that are causing me the concern I have expressed here originated with Gedrene.

Thank you, Zeraeph, for your concerns about members breaking the rules but the above snippet from the WP Terms of Service is perfectly clear and I don't think anything more needs to be said about it.
