Is this site compatible with Tapatalk, any other Android forum-reading apps, or does it maybe have an alternate layout that's optimized for mobile browsers?

As it stands, it's not exactly unusable with an Android browser, but it's far from ideal due to the frame-based layout. I might be wrong, but I've gotten the impression that Tapatalk-enabling most popular forum software is pretty easy to do.

(edit: originally said "Tapatouch", fixed to avoid downstream confusion with the subject line)

WP does not use frames (although some adverts seem to use badly formed iframe elements).

WP is merely rather broken HTML 4.01 - e.g. this page had 88 errors and 55 warnings. It also had 61 CSS 2.1 errors, plus a stack of WAI (Web Accessibility Initiative) issues.

WP has no alternate layouts.

WP is based on obsolete software.

What is Tapatouch, anyway? So far as I can see, it is just an app for the phone. I don't see why any BB software needs to change. Surely it is up to the app to recognise typical ways BB systems organise themselves. As such, WP uses phpBB. As that's the most popular BB software in the world, I would expect the app to handle it rather well.

(Albeit WP uses the obsolete phpBB2 with a discontinued PHPNuke, both heavily hand-patched/broken.)

PS. I think you meant to say Tapatalk.

http://www.tapatalk.com/faq.php says it works with phpBB3, and I guess as phpBB2 went obsolete before Tapatalk came into existence, they didn't bother to make it work with that.

Just giving it a gentle bump and hoping for reconsideration as part of the upgrade to the new forum software that Alex is working on. The new software is probably going to be around for a few years, and there will never be an easier or safer opportunity to get the plugin for Tapatalk (or some other comparable app that exists for both Android and IOS) working than now (before it goes live and has real users to worry about).
