Well I do because I follow that sort of thing and know someone who experienced it, but there are lots of people who don't.

I knew a crazy guy (not too well and I don't know his diagnosis, he was a friend of a friend and I hung out with him a few times) and he was really afraid of and paranoid about the cops for some reason. Eventually the cops went to his house to bring him in to a mental hospital and he tried to run and they restrained him and he died from a medical condition he had. I remember reading in the paper before about some nearby city having a special mental health team to bring people in but here the cops come and get you.

I can't hear the sound on the computer I am at, but I will say that Aspies are very prone to cop abuse. Whether or not it is intentional or not, I have been bullied by police in the past and it is something to be aware of. I am not even sure if I have Aspergers, but I believe I do, and I have heard stores of other Aspies who have been mistreated by the cops.

Hell, everyone is mistreated by the cops. It is something to be mindful of. I often run into the trap of thinking that cops are good people protecting and serving their people. Sometimes they are, sometimes they aren't. Often times they are abusive from my experience.

A mentally disturbed person can't control or mind their behavior. That's why we call them mentally disturbed.

The police, on the other hand, can be expected to mind their behavior. At the very least, I'd expect them not to torture and kill people. Why is it that you think the police can not be changed?

I thought they could be charged when found guilty for a crime, and I am pretty sure torturing and murdering people is a crime. It sick anyone would think they should get away with that sort of thing.

The police in my town tazed a diabetic because he was in diabetic shock.

As a general rule the police leave me alone though, they screwed me over once and the whole department nearly got fired.

While the police have the right to defend themselves, they had no reason to pepper spray him and beat him because he was already strapped in the chair. He was unharmed so they had no reason to do what they did and it was not self defense.

I think police have always been this bad. The media has just made us aware of it is all.

the reason i fully support fully official records of all badge numbers, names associated with them and a public camera in their badge broadcasting throughout their duties,

any police officer without this badge is immediately incarcerated and have their pensions suspended pending review, any cop not willing to do so forfeits all pensions immedietaly,
make an exception for pre aproved cases of undercover work.

the police should fear the people, not the other way around, only then is there a chance they will do their actual duty.
completely unrealistic but i am truly tired of being sickened by police brutality,
maybe we should make it an actual life sentence, the more power they hold the more severe the punishment.

These threads remind me how good the police where I live are. An independant police complaints authority with over arching powers helps mightily too.

I have been Capisicum Sprayed not that long ago by 2 cops and it was very bad.

Don't trust people in authority, period.

They have their own agenda and you don't know them. Many of them have psychopathic and sadistic inclining. But there has to be someone making sure that various violent and economic fraudsters don't cause mayhem. The historic books is full of tales along this line.
