This is a message I just received. I am posting it because I classify it as being scary due to the fact that 1. It sounds like a stupid scam 2. Wish I knew why it was sent to me 3. WTF do they want from me? Of course I have no intention to send a reply of any kind.

I didn't even open up the message. I just copied it so that I could show it everyone here.

So either it's a phishing scam to steal information, data mining or some marketing ploy to exploit users.

There is a excellent chance that there are a lot of others from this website who received this same message. I can't see sending this type of message to only one person. Especially one who doesn't even have a blog.

Yah. It's called SPAM.

Report this kind of stuff to the moderators.

In the future, there are sticky threads at the top of this forum to report any problems like this. Just post a reply to one of them.

hyperlexian, all the info I have has been copied and pasted in the first message. The only name on the message is Casey Rose. And what do you mean with "so i can take care of this."?

no, i need the person's actual username. the name they gave you in the message itself is not useful. people are required to have a username to send a PM... unless the message went to your email, in which case it would be helpful to have the email address that they sent the message from.

the applicable member who sent the message will be banned if possible.

Yes, it was sent via e-mail to my hotmail account. [removed by mod] is the address given.

I'm now on the Blog Service, Inc. website. From what I have read so far their service is normally used by the owner of the site. Like Mr. Alex Plank who is now in France.
