Idea for a sticky

I've talked about this, and thought about it and posted a bit about it, but now I'm gonna get serious about it. I'm getting off my metaphorical rear end to actually ask about it here and start it.

I'd like to have a sticky life skills thread. Something where people who know how to do things explain in detail and steps how to accomplish daily tasks. It could be anything. Posts on housework, posts on cooking, posts on grocery shopping, budgeting, laundry. Posts on changing tires, fixing a broken toilet, all kinds of things. Recipes that are broken down in small and detailed steps.

It would need to be a sticky somewhere though, because otherwise it would just get lost. People who know how to do things and are willing to share the information could post there, along with others who may want to ask questions. I'd be willing to field the cooking and housework, domesticated type questions.

Also, eventually I'd like to make some YouTube videos and link them but that's down the road.

Would it be possible to have this as a sticky, and if so, where would it best be situation? I was thinking Random discussion.

Thoughts, ideas?

While my opinion holds no sway, I'm going to say anyway that I think this is a great idea.
I only worry that it would get confusing to have such in-depth information all in the same place. Like, if a person needed lots of help cooking for themselves they might want that to be separate from changing a tire-type info.

I think a "life skills" thread is a great idea, and creating it in Random Discussion feels right.

If you'd like to get the thread started, let's see how many posts it attracts; if it becomes popular it could be stickied.

I'll get on it later tonight. I'm going to start with cooking though. I think I'll call it "Life Skills; questions & answers" Or possibly "Life Skills, add to it please"

Which do you think?

ETA; I'll bump it up every day or so for a week or two so that we can see if it's popular or not. If it's not getting much traffic, I'll let it die a natural and peaceful death.

The first post could explain the purpose and ask for contributions.

I hope it does Ok; it's always difficult to predict what will take off or not.
Me, I live on microwave meals and much else seems too much fuss & bother, so being proved wrong about that has to be a bonus.
