Would a mechanic forum be worth it?

Would a mechanic forum be a good idea for this site? I think that some aspies skip on the computer coding/programming to be extremely good with engines and other mechanical things.
I work on tons of small engines, boats, hovercraft and cars. I also build small boats in spare time and have a high interest in marine technology.

I'm not really a mechanic... but I think that would be a good idea...

I'm down for it. I'm a self taught mechanic. I used to make money by doing rearend gear swaps for hot-rodders because they were too afraid to do it themselves. I've completed rebuilt my project car, until I kinda grew out of the hot-rod thing. I still do freelance mechanic work to make money, and do all my own repair work.

One of my cars has 187k, one has 179, and I am more confident that they will make it to their destination than anything my friends or parenst drive.

I'd enjoy a forum like that. My main passion is with computers, however I'm quite mechanically inclined too. My pet peeve is when people say "I hate those stupid engine computers, I'm going to rip off all that crap and put a carb on and be done with it!"

Gee, on one hand you have an overcomplicated contraption full of various jets and valves and various vacuum/heat-actuated objects that all have to miraculously work together and STILL can't deliver an optimal air/fuel mix under all conditions. On the other, an engine computer uses temperature, barometric pressure, throttle position, etc. to figure out the proper air/fuel ratio and spark advance. PLUS if there's a problem, it can tell you what's wrong!
