Who I am... . Random banality.
Hello all. My name is Mark T. Pierce. I am 25 and 2 days from today (June 10, it is the 8th today) I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. Quite honestly it is not a shock. For all too long I knew something... somewhere... was different about me.
Growing up I got in trouble for sleeping through classes and when awake correcting the teachers. They saw me as a wise guy; while I saw myself as attempting to be helpful. So what more can I say?? I guess I will wrap up this greeting. Goodbye, Mark T. Pierce

Hello all. My name is Mark T. Pierce. I
am 25 and 2 days from today (June 10,
it is the 8th today) I was diagnosed with
Asperger's Syndrome. Quite honestly it
is not a shock. For all too long I knew
something... somewhere... was different
about me. Growing up I got in trouble for
sleeping through classes and when awake
correcting the teachers. They saw me as a
wise guy; while I saw myself as attempting
to be helpful. So what more can I say?? I
guess I will wrap up this greeting. Goodbye,
Mark T. Pierce
Hmmmm?
First off! Welcome, expressive and giving
person called PierceMarkT. Age 25
is a good year, or in my own words
"just old enough to get respect, but
young enough to get away with it".
This would be my first impression of you.
If I am wrong, this giving soul appologizes.
I find this is conveyed in your introduction
and my instincts tend to be good.
Hmmmmm?
Welcome to WrongPlanet. What were you
before this diagnoses that made you want
to take it this "on paper" level???????????
I ask this because of your expression you
conveyed in your introduction! You didn't
say "Hi-I am new here", or "Just diagnosed
and new here", instead you said "Hi, just
diagnosed.....Giving person.......How's it going
.......ect."
This is not what I have seen of normal AS
folk introducing themselves here. So a little
background would help me understand
where you are coming from!
Hmmmmmmm?
I am Ghosthunter, I am HFA, or one with a
delayed learning disability(between ages 3-6)
and thus fall into the HFA category. AS is
usually one who is gifted and socially limited,
not typically LD'd.
I have a high IQ, and speak just fine.
I just don't know how to carry on normalllll?????
conversations, and that includes this website.
I am working on this each day, and trial and
error is either with me or against me each day.
I have a keen analytical mind, and express
most of the time how I think, thus limited
conversational skills.
I am 39 years old and had my autism outed
by my employer and I thank him for it. It
answered why I am helpful, giving,
overcompensational to others, and these are
some of my greatest gifts. The gift of heart,
expression(though not expressed verbally
like a normal person), and the heart of a lion.
Know.....Let's get to you. I am playing my
hunch that you are expressive as your introduction!
Hmmmmm?
Ghosthunter
In reference to Ghosthunter, let me say this I need not prove anything, to anyone, at any time. However in good form I will expatiate.
1. I am 25. July 06 1979 was the day I was born.
2. I never claimed to be a member of the flock. I was diagnosed with Asperger's and am currently being myself to the best of my ablity. Simply because my writing style isn't like what you might have been expecting doesn't mean I am not who or what I say I am. I NEVER lie.
3. My backgroud prior to diagnosis is 24 years long and fraught with confusion and social angst. I was considered retarted, then went into foster care, then cosidered borderline/latent genius, graduated HS, became homeless, joined army, passed Basic Combat Training, passed Advanced Individual Training, was a cook for US army in Germany, sent to Kuwait/Iraq, chaptered out of army because of Major Depressive Disorder, attempted college, evicted from college for finacial reasons, became homeless, went into a Veteran's Administration homeless program, was Diagnosed by the VA and am living in a hud housing apartment working as a janitor. That is quite a run-on sentence.
4. I have a speech impediment and in order to clarify myself as much as possible I speak as you would say " On Paper" .
That is all for now. call me radio shack you have question I have answers.
Goodbye Mark T. Pierce

You aren't ret*d here.......alone. We are all in this together. The last time someone insinuated that I was mentally slow, I turned a piece of paper upside down and drew a remarkably accurate little sketch of RMS Britannic upside down for them. When they gasped and said "Titanic" I said "no moron, Britannic and then continued to spew out some facts on the ship before going my separate way.
Hi, PierceMarkT. Nice to meet you. Look forward to your postings.
