WP is virtually unusable at the moment. Pages either take a minute or more to load or I get the message about the site being offline with no cached version available. Giving up for the time being.

I appreciate all the feedback as issues are arising. I've started some ridiculously verbose monitoring and have been working through issues as I see them to hopefully resolve (or) make these less frequent error messages.

Somebody needs to get in touch with Alex and ask him what's going on with WP, if no one has done so already.

All he would do is turn around and ask us. Luckily, we're sharing what we can with everybody.

One of the messages I've been getting is the old one about the server experiencing a high amount of traffic & that it will be back in 1 to 2 minutes or less. I suspect that these errors & bugs are a result of poor fixes to the server being overloaded. Maybe Alex can start a donation campaign to get money for a new server. I'm going give this site a break for a while now because it's extremely difficult for me to do anything

These aren't bugs or errors - the server is legitimately overloaded.

Well, Then Guess what,

We need another "Better" server.

Well, that's not really for you to decide, now is it?

Well there's just a bit more to handling "overload" than simply sourcing a "better" server.
And throwing hardware at a problem isn't much use unless you know exactly what the problem is.
Also, that hardware doesn't grow on trees.

ok, well... maybe try contacting alex directly? since the mods (and sliqua-jcooter) don't have any power to change this, your suggestion won't really do much. the likelihood of alex weighing in on this particular thread is slim to none.

I cleared your cache, cookies, whatever and it worked. Maybe it was just a coincidence, I dunno.

I've been getting the Offline--No Cached Version message off and on over the past couple of weeks or so. It gives me the option of using a live version which has worked okay so far. I've noticed that a number of others here at WP are having similar problems. I did some research, and apparently this is caused by a new server service provider called Cloud Flare. Apparently their system is buggy. WP needs to switch to a better server service provider.

Apparently you didn't do enough research, because CloudFlare isn't a server provider, it's a caching service. And the issues aren't with their service.
