You may not be aware of this, but Autistic Pride Day is fast approaching. Will WP or any of its members plan on doing anything to commemorate the occasion?

Aspies for Freedom (AFF) started it. The site for it is:

http://www.autisticprideday.com/

This is the first year for Autistic Pride Day. AFF put out a press release to spread the word about it and to reach as many parts of the world and get as many events as individuals want to organize.

For all you folks out there who don't know who he is, Malcolm Glazer is, at present, owner of the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers and "majority owner" of the Manchester United F.C. in Merrie Olde England. To say the folks in Manchester UK are upset about this move would be putting it mildly, to say the least.

Schools could have a No Dress Code day with the students giving a coin donation to dress how they like. Monies raised could be donated to the local Austim Society

Is this an international Autism day?

I do not know, but a party is a party. No just kidding. I will celebrate it correctly.

Yes they are hoping that it will become international. Check the website link I posted, they say what others are doing in other countries.

I 'celebrated' it by doing a tiny bit of work on autistics.org. (Not really equipped to do much else right now.)

A friend of mine wrote this, which I posted for him:

http://www.autistics.org/library/autpride2005.html

I agree with much of it and was very happy that he wrote it, because I had been attempting to write something similar (not about Autistic Pride Day, but about the more general ideas in the article) for some time now, but not getting very far. Not even one sentence. So I am happy someone else managed to say it.
