I do think it will but I dont know if all the changes will come automatically. Psychs that work with those on the spectrum have learned to start targetting mild cases as aspergers/PDD-NOS. With everything under autism, they might still be diagnosing those on the more milder side as an autism disorder cause technically aspergers/PDD-NOS is under autism, even if those people dont make the severity levels. Eventually if there is a push to have more severe criteria, the push towards stricter diagnosis will come eventually. The DSM-4 came out in 1994 which had "aspergers" but the aspergers diagnosis really didnt pick up until pass 2000, i think. I got diagnosed in 2007. Well despite all of this, I know I do not qualify for the official DSM-5 autism diagnosis. If I need to update my diagnosis, ill likely fall under Social Communications Disorder (SCD). I believe that one fits me better anyways.
