I'm a keen flamenco guitarist so I was interested in hearing this music. I don't think it's really flamenco, with the trumpets it sounds more Mexican mariachi. But most importantly is the rhythm, flamenco has very well defined rhythmic frameworks and I don't think this fits any of them. I could be wrong - flamenco is more complex and deep than non-afficionados realise, too much to learn in 1 lifetime!
Not to detract from what is a nice piece of music - flamencos do spend a lot of time arguing whether something is 'flamenco' or not, but I think it's more a Spanish/Latin piece with a flamenco influence.
Similar for Jesse Cook, an excellent guitarist for sure, but not flamenco. At least in the YouT clip, anyway. Flamenco guitarists never play with a plectrum, we use all the fingers on the right hand for tapping rhythm on the guitar body as well as playing the notes.
In a similar vein, if you're interested in brilliant flamenco-type music, have a look at Rodrigo y Gabriella on YouTube. Jaw droppingly good!! !!
