I'm not sure if this is what you're asking, but I read once that if you ever have a moment when you feel perfectly content and at peace, that's the situation to start working from. You start building your life, priorities, fulfilling needs and desires based on what gives you that same feeling/situation or what distances you from that feeling/situation. I applied it to my life and built a new life for myself from there, 10 years ago. And I love it.

Yes, that is what I was asking, yet I believe my confusion starts in earnest after deciding on a goal.
So, your suggestion/idea is: to sort of continue to remind yourself of that contentment, thus one's subsequent decisions will be easier to discern, and give a sense of 'being on target'?
Then, when other people start giving advice and/or warnings, they're not able to shake your confidence nor manipulate you?

That's a very good point. I don't have anyone who cares what I do with my life or tries to manipulate me to be someone other than who I want to be, so maybe for me it was easier... When you have close people in your life or are searching to have them, it's all a compromise between what brings you closer to your dreams and what brings you closer to those people...

Glad you have a life you love, and even better self-made. I was referring to a dream-goal I have, not worried about people, as I don't have any close to me except my kids, only one of whom still lives with me. And that is a different 'system' than, say, significant other, etc.
Anyway, wise words and they've given me a strong point to consider and/or meditate on, thanks.

67 y/o here. I'm beginning to think I took the red pill and you did too. Let's see how far this rabbit hole goes.

"A déjà vu is usually a glitch in the Matrix. It happens when they change something. "

The more I try to understand NT's the more it becomes they seem to have taken the blue pill.
I cannot for the life of me understand how NT's cannot see past the next Saturday's game or Friday night's for eating out.

This thread is...to quote the valley girls..".so me! Yah. "

Jeez...do these people really exits..? ...and as for those folk on the Maurie Povitch/Steve Wilko shows...ye gods !
Why do you air your troubled life in front of 8 million or more people.? .....( Rhetorical question.)
