It may be that the people I meet are people who are able to confide in others and this is not a common thing between people. However if it is not the case that most people can easily have other confide in them I am very pleased that I apparently have that gift.

All of my friends are willing to tell me things which they are not willing to tell anyone else in my network of friends. And people that I meet, I can inspire this kind of trust in a very short time.

I really hate when secrets are kept from me, so I am extremely pleased and satisfied that I have the honor of being allowed into the heads of others so intimately.

It has happened again and again that in any situation people confide in me in lieu of others and side with me than others.

But i seriously wonder, how i have accomplished this. Because I consistantly am able to have others confide in me but i didn't work this crap out and plan it. It is just a natural skill. So i wonder heavily how i have put together this skill.

Might it be that you are a good listener? So few people are, really, that when people do find one they appreciate it.

The same thing happens to me. I think it's mostly because I avoid useless conflicts instead of diving into them like most of the people I know, so I'm always neutral. And the fact that I don't talk much or interrupt people when they're talking, which is enough to be called a "good listener."

I find I am a good listener too. I ask lousy questions though, cause I tend to forget what they said almost as fast as they say it.

I got that 'skill' too.

People just seem to trust that I not lie cheat or steal. Thank goodness b/c I don't.
It good thing. A few years ago I was helping train cabling students. I walked into work 10 minutes late. They say hey.. you suppose to set example for us...what your excuse for being late??

Me: I slept in.

Them: hey Rick are you gonna let him get away with that? (in good fun)

Rick: He didn't lie about it did he?

I like that people trust me and think I am a good listener. But I have let it get to the point where poeple think they can come and dump their s**t on me and have not much respect for me as a person at all. I am fine combing these people out of my existanse.

I find that quite unerving sometimes.

My CAD teacher would allow me to stay in the computer lab totally unsupervised b/c he completely trusted me. He NEVER trusted anyone else in the class. This freaked me out a bit.

Heh. Same here. I reguarly am working on my own.... Or rather, working on my own projects. Simply because they sooner or later give me something to apply to what I'm supposed to work on.

People have told me I'm a "good listener" too... probably because I'm not paying attention to what's being said in the first place.

She (aloud): "...and then my neighbor said...blah blah blah blah blah...and then I said...blah blah blah blah blah..."

Me (in my head): "...Mobius strip...alternate universes...5th dimension..."

She: "...blah blah blah..."

Yeah. Good listener. :D

I always liked it. Better to be too trusted than have everyone suspicious of you. The only part I didn't like was when other people got jealous of the "special privileges" and used it as further fodder to ostracize.
