Dear All,
After a couple of months of lurking, here I am joining WP.
I'm a self-diagnosed Aspie. No official label yet, but I'm applying for tests. On the net, I got:
Your Aspie score: 158 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 49 of 200
You are very likely an Aspie
on Aspie-Quiz, and 28 points on The Geek Test.
I'm 41 now, and I've spent a lot of my life (from 6 years on) talking to therapists, wondering what the hell was wrong with me.
Then I stumbled on Aspergers at Wikipedia, and found my way to WP. Not so much a lightbulb going on as the floodlights at a huge sports arena - kaboomf!
Tell me if any of this sounds familiar:
IQ of 160
History of disruptive behaviour in school
Poor social interactions
Clumsy, often walking into doors, tables, etc.
Grammar/Spelling nazi.
Cats/Books more interesting than people
Violent meltdowns as child
Short period of convulsions in early teens
Late bloomer sexually, first sex at 19
Suggested diagnosis: BPD
Unable to work out what to say next
Either avoid eye-contact or give piercing stare
"You have NO consideration for other people's feelings!"
Driving is a nightmare. Don't own a car.
Human world seems to consist of endless invisible toes, on which I keep treading.
However, at last I can sit down and talk to fellow aliens. Pointy ears, green skin, blue-in-blue eyes everywhere! Well done WP!
