I think Jimmy Carter would have been the closest we have come to an Aspie President, being and engineer and actually telling the truth about energy issues. Had he continued I wonder if our energy issues would be solved and we would have high speed railroads. But it seems that most Americans hated and hate Carter and voted for Reagan. Since then, no politician has "told the truth". So it looks like now an asperger President is a no no.

agreed and he was mocked when he told americans to "turn down the heat" :( whats wrong with that ?

I also think that with all the interest in trains people like us have, we would have had national high speed rail by 1985.

The honesty and transparency of an aspie President would be amazing to see...but every President/Prime Minister etc. around the globe would have to be the same. I'm assuming you are talking about an American President - no good being transparent if nobody else is, unless he or she obtains high-level intelligence from the other nations and is also a whistle-blower. In which case society as we know it would explode into piles of poo, and that can only be a good thing, right?

Haha, trains are okay, they are useful in the kind of society we live in, but that society turns to poo, remember? :D

I was actually serious that it would be a good thing to change society around a bit.

Well I thought I'd mention it as it resonated with me not sure what you mean by "that society" are you talking about socialism? because if you are it's laughable conservatives rant and rave on message boards that "government projects" like this will turn America in to "France" like nation etc yet conveniently ignore countries like |Switzerland who have a more free and more dynamic economy than the |Usa *, few in that country object to mega dollars being thrown at it and if they did being a real democracy they can have a referendum on it. :)

* how does 2% unemployment sound, a little ray of sunshine surrounded by storm clouds. :D

Even if an aspie became president, they'd have next to no power thanks to the neurotypical business elite that have bought their way into, and for all purposes control the halls of power. They would block every single initiative to make the world a less autistic-hostile place.

So really the question is a misnomer in the first place.

If elections changed anything, they would abolish them.
