There's this college officer from the board who demanded that I know his name and face when I went to him asking about an inquiry. I obviously did not know and he asked me to leave his office. :?

WTF?! What a diva! I was going to ask an inquiry about forms. That's pretty much it. It's not as if there was a sign outside with his name, position, and face on it.

I really hate people with a celebrity complex. I want to file a complaint against him in a formal letter. What should I write?

Hahaha sounds like a real character that one! Just write a note on what he said in the student newspaper, then everyone will know his name !

"What's my name?"

"LE What"?

Did you chcek outside his office to see if his name is written there because that happens for some professors have their name outside their office which he might say that if it is written there. Then this might make a little more sense.

@psychegots: That was the first thing I would have done. I would have probably been expelled for that even if it was true.
@CornerPuzzlePieces: Correct.

No.
Even if there was a sign, that is still extremely disrespectful, rude, and arrogant nonetheless. I want to file a complaint against him with the dean of the college.

I already wrote the ending of the letter. But I am still not sure how to "charge" him for an offence. Yes, people who try to act as if they are "celebrities" and "divas" are rude but I am still not sure how to file a complaint against him.

I am pretty sure if a student did that against a professor he/she would be expelled for that. I am just not sure how I should argue since I am a student and he is in the college board.

While it's not illegal to be an asshat to someone unfortunately, it is against his terms of employment to refuse help to a student just because they aren't a wannabe apple-shiner.

If it was a student health officer that would be an extra level of wrong. :x

Nuh uh. Not required. It's power abuse, plain and simple.

Seniority should not automatically equal god-like status, this happening is a throwback to the days when you could not question elders in positions of power.

No more.
Make sure people know his name so they have someone to call when something needs cleaning up.

Power abuse means you have done something illegal. Being an asshat isn't illegal unfortunately. :?

Nonetheless, I will still want to file a complaint but I still can't file a complaint unless I charge him with something concrete other than being an arrogant, disrespectful, rude asshat. I wish I could somehow obtain his "terms of employment". I might be able to quote something and use it against him. But, students have no access to that.

Well, I could say it is bullying in some context. I am just not sure how to use that angle.

He refused to help you with your inquiry. You can complain about that.
