I don't completely agree with you; I agree that all thought has a dash of emotion in it, but I do not agree that logic cannot exist, or even that it cannot be used, without emotion. It does not take emotion to say 'If A=B, B=C and C/=D than A=C, A/=D and B/=D' you may see this as math, and it is, but it is also logic, and I am often able to ignore emotion and think in pure logic. Of course I only can do this with things that can be objectively observed, A is bigger than B works but A is cuter than B doesn't. :lol:

Pure logic makes little use of emotion, per se; but will is required to carry out the logical sequence from its premise to its conclusion.

Example:

  • Given that:
    • All wuzzafuzzes are cats.
    • All cats love canned catfood.
    • All wuzzafuzzes are warm and fuzzy.
  • Conclude whether:
    • The proposition that all cats are warm and fuzzy is true
    • All wuzzafuzzes love canned catfood
    • All wuzzafuzzes have two eyes, four legs, and whiskers


One can deduce from the assumptions that all wuzzafuzzes do, indeed, love canned catfood but not that all cats are warm and fuzzy or that all wuzzafuzzes have two eyes, four legs, and whiskers. A computer can apply this kind of logic without the involvement of any neurochemicals.

Yes, but remember that although a computer may be logical, it does not have the intelligence of a human. Not even the mopst powerful super-computer has more than one millionth of the intelligence of a human. Especially not an Aspie.

I would define all neurochemicals as the base of emotions. Hence thinking does not occur without them.
