Why does religion always make an already bad children's show even worse? Just yesterday I saw a Youtube video about a big blue humanized gospel songbook named Psalty (for some reason instead of giving him an animatronic face they decided to just paint the guys' face blue and have him wear a blue wig so it absolutely will not look like a human face is looking through a hole in the spine of a giant book ) , his dog Blooper (a guy in a dog suit with very gangly false forelegs to make them look the same length as his hind legs) and a crowd of hammy, overacting kids who dance and lip-sync to songs about Bible quotes every two minutes. In other words, it's like Barney and Friends with religion. I never thought I'd say that makes this show even worse than Barney. The hour-long program has Psalty taking his victims- I mean child friends- on a camping trip up a mountain. The young'uns keep wining, moaning and complaining in horrible voices about being tired, bored, or hungry, but then Psalty makes them sing a song and then suddenly they're all charged up an full of energy. The song where they use quotes from the Bible that I already mentioned is the most cringe-inducing IMO, it starts with a little girl saying she can't memorize the Bible because "I'm TOO little!! ! *sucks thumb while playing with hair*) So they all "help her" by singing that song. You'll have to see and listen for yourself to know how bad it it is, but one girl says "Jesus wept" in a horrible, fake-sobbing" voice. When they finally get to the top of the mountain they soon sing yet another song where one little kid says he got to the top and he's only 3. ...A three-year old climbed to the top of a mountain? I don't know how tall this place is, but when I was three a steep hill was a mountain and I was lucky if you got me to walk to the top of it without dissolving into tears! 
Anyway, it's not the worst religious kiddy show I've seen, mainly because it's not as low-budget as some other shows (Junior Christian Science, anyone?), but it's still very cringe worthy. The person who uploaded the entire show on YT said their mother was a religious extremist who obsessed over religion eight hours a day because she was brainwashed by their father and scarred them for life making them watch this show. They said the mother is now in the hospital because of mental illness. And what's really bad is that so many replies were from religious people saying what a terrible person they are and what a beautiful show and character Psalty is. 
I seem to be the one of the few Youtubers who was on his or her side
