I'm in my second semester of graduate school and I go to school on financial aid. After a semester of battling unchecked depression and anxiety, my grades took a big hit and I'm no longer eligible for financial aid because of my GPA. I have the opportunity to appeal and I'm going to but I just can't stop dwelling on all the negative things that have come up because of this. If my appeal isn't accepted I'll have to leave school because I can't afford to pay for it on my own. I've never struggled in school before now. I'm getting my doctor to change my medication to get the depression and anxiety back under control but until then I'm left dealing with all these negative feelings.

Has this happened to anyone else? Were you successful with your appeal?

This hasn't happened to me YET. I'm undergrad still. But I would like to say in your appeal try to include a doctor's note about the depression. A friend of mine also lost her financial aid because of low GPA. She also was anemic at the time and sent in her documents to prove it. They lifted her off the ban and put her financial aid back on.

Thanks for telling me that. It gives me more hope that my own appeal will be successful. I've all ready gotten in touch with my GP and she's going to provide a letter attesting to the depression. Hopefully this works out for me like it did for your friend.
