That's the thing, the Sunburn is REALLY lethal. It makes the exocet look like a toy. It flies at mach 3, and when it's a few miles from its target it enters a "terminal guidance phase", "jinking" around in a random pattern specifically designed to defeat the Phalanx anti-missile system. Just the kinetic energy alone is enough to do lots of damage.

When you consider the average CVN has a crew of 8 THOUSAND.....ouch.

Oh, I forgot to mention the torpedos that travel at 300 kph....

Oh, and here's a nice little TV movie about a nuclear war. It's called Threads and is the most depressing thing I have EVER seen.
