I agree that Jewish people are awesome...I like Jewish devotional music...
Judaism is a fascinating subject for me...

AlexandertheSolitairy: I like the book of Isiah as well! It is largely incomprehensible but very inspirational...

Yes, this is a very poetic book. Often words of judgement and of mercy stand side by side. Also Isaiah and other prophets in the Hebrew Scriptures are inspirational in that they show courage despite their doubts and fears, are given very discouraging tasks like rebuking people for sin, oppression and injustice, and giving highly unpopular and at times seemingly unpatriotic advice to kings and others in authority. They have a zealous concern for the needs of the poor and the persecuted. At times they can seem intolerant; yet to stay silent would not be merciful, but callous and apathetic. Incidentally, at times some of them, including Isaiah, but also Jeremiah, seem to share the reader's distress at the apparent harshness of God's response to human iniquity. Sorry if I am going into sermon-mode, lol. Would Mr Wizard be able to refer us to some talmudic and other rabbinical treatments of the book of Isaiah? I realise that the way in which Christians have interpreted these scriptures at times shows disregard for context, and would be interested to know more about Jewish exegesis.
