Please, please, please fix this. It is highly annoying and makes the forums nearly unusable for me because I have to "guess" where new posts might start in a particular thread.

This is the button I am talking about when viewing a forum index or search results.

Thank you!

It breaks when the server goes down. It also seems to get messed up in interactions with some browsers as well. I have to say, the particular BBS used here is especially annoying, IMHO. I've never had so much trouble - both in IE and firefox, as with this site.

It broke months ago, during the big "switchover" (whatever that was), and has not worked since.

If it's not going to be fixed, I wish that button would disappear so as to not indicate that the functionality exists.

Whilst it would be nice if it were fixed, I find it useful, as it does often work.

Just to be clear, I am talking about the button circled in red here. Is this the one you're referring to that works sometimes? The white button at the end by the username does work for me, but it takes you to the very last post in the thread, not the first new post since your last visit.

Yes. I know exactly what you are talking about. It does work, as long as the server hasn't gone down (which it does regularly) AND you don't have a browser problem. If you check in once a day, it will never be right. If you are on for a while, it should usually be ok, no?

So, my take on problems with the interaction with browsers.

First, there seems to be a serious problem with firefox (for me alone) logging
into WP. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

I have nearly the opposite problem that overflow has, which is that my little
blue button sometimes doesn't move at all.

When I switch browsers (necessitated by the FF problem) it seems to reset
all of these, so that there are no new posts at all.

This is the only BBS software that I've noticed these problems with.
