Ok, so for this new course I am following at university (masters year) I have to give a short training of about 30 minutes to 15 students in my coursegroup. The subject can be anything, as long as I like it and it is somehow useful to the trainees.

I have NOOOOO IDEAA WHATSOEVER about what training to give! What should I do?? So for, others have given a meditation training, an origami-training and a 'showing appreciation to others', a tea party training training.

Oh my god I have to do it this friday and I am so stressed out. What on earth would be usefull to these people?

I like:
-singing
-theatre
-internet
-watching tv

None of those things is particularly useful to give a training about.

Does anyone have tips? :(

I have never followed a training or skillscourse in my life...

dealing with difficult people

I have attended several workshops on this subject. You can have the students role play - one as an angry customer or bully and the other demonstrating the possible reactions and their outcomes.

Lol, thanks! I never thought about this. But what are the proper ways to handle a rude person? Because if I give a training on this topic, I have to know what the 'good' way is and be able to demonstrate that.

This article sums things up well:

Psychology Today

In the workshops I attended they had people play the disgruntled patron and the clerk. You could come up with different scenarios from different environments (eg. school, restaurant, anywhere a conflict might arise.) I don't know what you're studying, but you should probably make the scenarios applicable to your program.

Thanks!

And well, I study psychology. Don't know what I can do with that.

Is it really referred to as "a training"?

How about a training session on English grammar?

Yeah, it is referred to as a training. What they really mean is a workshop of about 30 minutes.

It´s so hard to come up with something. English grammar is not allowed.

What is the course you're doing?

And what is the purpose of doing this training session - what skills are you supposed to be demonstrating? Other than the content of the session.

You mention you like theatre and singing - I once went on a day course for post-grads which had a component about giving talks and presentations. That part of the day was led by someone from a community theatre, and was very physical - idea was getting you to loosen up and relax so that you were more comfortable standing and talking in front of people. I was just thinking if you were into acting (but maybe by theatre you mean being in the audience?) and singing, then you could do some kind of voice-coaching/singing/postural thing?
