Hi there.

I had this crazy idea last year that I want to pursue a MBBS/MChD after I graduate from my current degree. I still have 1/5 years left on my degree so I'm in no rush to make a decision.

However, I would like to hear if medicine is or was challenging for someone with ASD to study? How about practicing in the profession itself, are there any challenges in this field for people who have ASD?

med school was easy for me. best time of my life. residency working with people 100 hrs. per week was draining, more so than for my socially adept peers. practice was ended after nine tumultuous years by my inability to navigate hospital politics. if I had it to do over, I'd be a pathologist instead of an internist.

aspieMD is a med student at duke. you might want to message him.

Thanks :)

What's the study requirements like? I heard people say they need to study 8+ hours a day. I don't know if I could focus that much for 4 years!
