I like the way rain smells at the moment it starts sprinkling, especially in the summer when it hasn't rained in a while. Rainy days are the best for laying around in bed asleep, listening to the sound of rainfall. As for lightning, I'm fine as long as it doesn't strike too close or God forbid, cause a power outage.

I like the smell of the wet earth. I enjoy storms more than rain fronts, though.

But I don't enjoy the half sunny, half rainy patches when it's starting to clear up. I like the rain, and I like the sun, but not the in between.

The earthy smell is not unlike the smell of the outdoors when the sun is about to rise. I hope to be getting up early more in future to be able to experience this.

I love the smell of rain, and summer storms are great. Incidentally there is a Mortiis album called 'The Smell of Rain' - thats pretty good too... :D

I like the smell when it rains on hot concrete.
I have to go out and have a sniff when that happens...

I have a hyper-sensitive sense of smell and I like the smell of rain. In fact I love the ten minutes or so before a storm when the sun goes in and you can smell the humidity in the air, I like that smell too.

Mmm yummy! I love the smell of good, clean rain on dry earth, but rain in the city can be a bit disappointing. And of course, I LOVE thunderstorms... when I was a kid it once rained buckets: water was overflowing in a cascade off the roof of the garage and flooding through an opening for a downpipe tha then dropped through a grate. I pulled on my bathers and had a good old shower in that! *beams*

I've also always really liked the smell of rain. There's just something so very lovely about it; really fresh, and earthy.
