please help me
When I was young with little money, no help from no one and a bad recession I had to find a job. I was just out of high school. I know this is a low tech approach and at the time it was more of a survival thing. Here is how it works.
Now don't laugh about this method. You get up in the morning and start at the closest place that provides some kind of employment, ask if they are hiring, offer yourself to work for them. Go to every single place, all of them regardless. Keep doing this all day long going from place to place progressively farther and farther away from where you sleep. Keep doing this every day 7 days a week until you get a job.
Now as far as a car goes you will need one, get a 20 year old car that not cool, it will be cheep probally around a grand or so.
Driving off road is a good place to practice or somewhere where there is not any traffic to interfere and build your basic skills.
Hi Soulburner,
What's your education level? You may need to upgrade education and move, and there might be grants available to help you do that from local post-secondaries.
If you did poorly in school because of attentiveness and other aspie issues, you can still upgrade your skills but will have to volunteer for people and go out and do it.
You sound like your focus is arts; I would suggest that you focus on a creative craft in your spare time. That way, when you become proficient at it, you can give up the day job that is mind-numbing and do what you love for a living. This can take a few years, which seems like forever at 20, but it's a good bet.
I upgraded by taking a one-year journalism diploma and then got a job as a weekly newspaper reporter. It paid terribly but was a foot in the door. That's what you need: a foot in the door on something you like.
It sounds as though you're in a small town. Leaving there is probably priority number one. Start looking for jobs in the paper of the nearest city and plan to move. You will not find a job in your town that involves not having to deal with people you see regularly.
Look for people online looking for roommates and move in with someone cheap by splitting the rent. While doing that job, use all of your spare time to either upgrade your education or learn a craft.
This is how you SURVIVE. I left home at 18 in much the same situation as you, with no money and a job that paid less than $11,000 after taxes. I'm now 43 and pretty happy and have had a pretty decent life.
Oh... and this is very important... USE your aspergers as a gift. The reason you spend all of your time playing video games, reading or writing is because they take your mind off how the world bothers you. But they also are repetitive, and time sinks. You need to sink your time into something that will benefit your life. That's probably not going to be gaming, unless being a game reviewer is your big thing, and trust me, Wal-Mart pays better. Or Meiers. Whatever.
I wasted far too long on gaming 99% of the time. When I stopped, I learned blues guitar, started a band that made the blues charts nationally, played festivals...and when I got tired of that after six years, I moved on to writing fiction, which started poorly as all things do and now is doing okay.
You have to use the focus not just to distract from the mundane or banal, but to find the wonder in the larger world and adapt it to your interests. Are you fascinated by buildings? Maybe travel writing is the thing for you. Again, you can't make a living at it right away, but if you make your hobby something that also gives you independence by producing some income, your life will be a lot happier, because you'll have control over how much you need to interact with others.
