I hate the way CGI looks nowadays. It's on this weird borderline where it looks "fake" enough to be obvious, but too "real" to be stylized. I prefer how older movies did it, where things that were supposed to look realistic were done with actual sets and in-camera effects, and CGI was used more sparingly, for things that were meant to look more stylized.

Another thing that really annoys me is the whole idea of "bloodless carnage". You have all these scenes in modern films, involving violent fistfights or gun battles, and not a single drop of blood is seen. I think it just looks stupid, and takes away from the suspension of disbelief. As well, it takes away from the overall impact of what is seen on screen, and admittedly I think it gives some people the wrong idea that shooting someone isn't really that big of a deal.

Party scenes tend to annoy me too. They always tend to be the same; a crowd of people are in someone's house dancing, and getting wasted, while some dumb song plays, and if it just happens to be a pool party, then it becomes a lame excuse for fanservice.

Utterly predictable movie plots.

Annoys me too. Very often it has no bearing on the story AT ALL. They just shove it in because it's the standard recipe for movies these days. They did this in The Hobbit movie too, even though there are no women at all in the book (and I think only one woman is mentioned in passing, Bilbo's mother), they managed to shove in a semi-romance between an Elf and a Dwarf.

There are several classics where there is no romance at all:

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly: classic quest for the treasure with the Civil War as backdrop.
The Big Lebowski: just three dudes going along with their life. It's pretty clear that the only person who is married (the Big Lebowski) does not love his wife at all. The only time someone has sex it is made clear that is purely for procreation and not romance.
Can't think of many other movies with zero romance.

It annoys me whenever people hate movies before they even see them.

The only thing I'm bothered by, really, is that basically every movie not specifically for children has sex in it. Are people actually interested in those scenes, or...?

Whenever the background and/or the picture gets dark and you can't see what is going on.

1. How voices are so soft and hard to hear and the sound effects are EAR SHATTERING LOUD!! Come on, balance everything.
2. Watching a good thriller or action movie only to find a sex scene, in the bed, with taking off bras to boot in the middle of the movie. Waste of a scene - I FF them. Why do I need to see some sex in a good movie? Leave that to romantic R-rated movies.
3. How every Disney movie nowadays is PG. They HAVE to put some fantasy violence or crude humor in 5-year-old's movies nowadays. I watched a lot of G stuff when I was a little kid.

Too much music --- If a scene is supposed to be a really powerful plot point in the movie, let the actors, etc, do the work to carry it!

And why does the music have to be so much louder than the words? I turn the sound up to hear the words and way down when the music comes on.

YESSSS! When I came to high school I was surprised by how much everyone looked like me and not Scarlett Johansson.
Also, the thing where the computer guy/girl starts explaining in "computer language" and the others tell them to "speak English!! !! !" I would love to hear the techy words they use.

I, too, hate when the music is so loud, but the dialogue is soft. I also hate when they go from a very quiet scene, to an EXTREMELY LOUD, one----there's GOT TO BE some other way to transition----I'm sure they do it on purpose, though; I guess they think that's thrilling, or something.

I also hate when a movie strays so far from the book. I'm a bit of a "Harry Potter" fanatic. The first two movies were, pretty much, perfect. The rest were pretty terrible (I've only seen 5 of them, though.). The things that bother me the most----and I feel I sound silly even mentioning it, but.....

The character "Fleur" in "The Goblet of Fire" was suppose to be BEYOND GORGEOUS, IMO, from how the book described her, and the "Fleur", in the movie, was only "attractive"----that really burned-me-up!! ! Another thing is I didn't like the costumes----I know it's silly, but Hermione was supposed to have a BLUE dress at the Ball; and Cornelius Fudge was suppose to have a "lime-green bowler". Someone else, here, commented about not having enough color, in costumes----I totally agree. I think, maybe, they don't do it cuz too much color is "juvenile", maybe, and they think darker is more mature??? I dunno....

but I know it ticks-me-off!! !

I personally hate anything with graphic nudity, or repetitive bombs and explosions as well. I also hate films with tons of action involving the military or karate, etc. I can't follow the plot when there's too much visual stimulation. I prefer dialogues and emotions.
