Wanting internship related to special interest
It seemed like an impossible thing, but I found online advertised a 2 month internship related to my old job path/special interest that is a 2 hour drive from my home. The only part that would suck is I would need to live there in staff housing and I would leave my husband behind. But my husband wants me to have this so bad that he would be willing to do that. Plus he would visit me on days off if he can.
Anyway, they asked for a resume and I ended up sending them a cover letter too. I also called and left a message. I want this sucker bad, what else can I do? I applied two days ago and no word from them.

If you already sent your resume and the other documents they need, the only thing you can really do at this point is follow up to show them you're interested. Make sure they know which applicant is calling so they will remember the name, if they have a long list of applicants then yours would be familiar to them.
Other than that, I'm not really sure there's anything you can do. Just show them you're interested, but still give them time to look it over before you call, as you don't want them to start getting annoyed. If you left a message already, give them 2 or 3 days at least to call back, and if they don't respond then just call again to ask about the status of your application. This will show them you are interested and possibly get you an interview.

I just don't know how many people are applying. In the past, I got lucky, I got an internship and they told the interns later that over 100 people applied. That internship was teaching children about birds but it turns out I suck at that, lol. Now I'm trying to go the scientific route and I've had past scientific bird jobs... but I am not trained in the skill the internship would train me in. I need to change my avatar to a bird, lol.
