i was drifting through youtube for some more material of Stereolab (british band active from the 90s to 2009), i stumbled upon a house song by an artist of a nearly identical name.
i don't like house, and stereolab is much different so i was caught really off guard.

Sounds like generic EDM to me. House isn't really my thing, I prefer techno, industrial, trance, and EBM.

Anything made after 2010.

There was a radio program that was broadcast many years ago on WITF-FM Hershey, PA called Osborg's Choice. The host was Father Bernd Osborg, who was a priest in the Anglo-Catholic tradition. His show consisted only of music written before 1750. To him, music written after 1750 was tripe. I didn't agree with the post 1750 comment, but, if anything, he was partly responsible for my decision to major in music history. Now, the standard textbook for music history classes was, and still is, Donald Jay Grout's A History of Western Music. Dr. Grout's specialty was music before 1600. Personally, Dr. Grout couldn't hold a candle to Fr. Osborg. Fr. Osborg usually came off sounding like a grouchy old man (which he was) but his selection of music was flawless. Listening to Fr. Osborg's show was an education in itself.

I do not know what left more scars bieng an undiagnosed teen in the 70's or hearing these "songs" over and over again.

Anything from the 1950s.

I really can't stand this song. It hurts my ears. Her voice is strong and I respect her talent, but the pitch she sings at hurts.

It's hard to believe it now, but my brother used to play Guns N' Roses a lot when we were in our late teens and I hated it because they swore so much. My brother was especially fond of that "I used to love her, but I had to kill her" song. Seems anyone who likes that song now really does end up murdering some woman. (except my brother)

He would also play Johnny Cash when he drove me anywhere. I cannot stand that guy's vibrating monotone voice and his songs all sound the same -awful- and one time my brother had to stop playing it because I was throwing a fit and in danger of smashing up the inside of our parent's car. I liked him as the wise and mystical coyote on The Simpsons, though. He doesn't sing.

My brother was also a huge Bob Dylan fan. I have mixed feelings since his songs were usually very good, or funny, and sounded really good when done by people who could actually sing, like Peter, Paul and Mary.

Anything by The Spice Girls. TELLUWUTIWANTWUTIREALLYREALLYWANT, I want you to SHUT UP THAT'S WHAT I WANT!! !

Many if not most jingles for ads on TV are aggravating and even worse get stuck inside your brain. That old jingle for Alka-Seltzer "Plop, plop, fizz fizz", is just stupid. And ever since I saw a reference to the lyrics when you use the toilet in one of the Police Quest games, it's just plain gross. Even worse they often take songs already written that are usually about how evil and greedy they are, and then the only play certain parts or change the lyrics. They should be beaten with an oar for doing that!!

Songs that annoy me?

1) Any song sung by a woman. There's something about the female singing voice that makes my spinal column decalcify and my ears want to bleed. Tracey Chapman is an exception.
2) Any song where the male singer uses a falsetto voice. Just. Don't.

I am much the same. Females singing songs is what boast face would want. I do not want that.

??Boast face?? Am I missing something here?
I have nothing against females singing songs. Or females in general. I am one. I just don't want to listen to them if I can possibly help it.

"Baby One More Time" by Britney Spears. Today, October 2nd, was the 16th anniversary of the release of "Baby One More Time" and The Today Show did a feature on that for "Throwback Thursday."

Even though my sister and I came of age in the 1990s, there is something about "Baby One More Time" that makes me want to regurgitate.

I can't stand Country, or Western. But I love Johny Cash.
Can't stand rap.
Can't stand any songs about sex. I get strong anxiety and lose my emotional control.
Can't stand any song using french language.

Not really, although I had "Baby One More Time" stuck in my head for most of the day yesterday.

I agree to a certain degree, and I'm a woman who likes to write songs, so that's really hypocritical of me, but I generally don't enjoy the timbre of female voices. I love bass and women's vocal chords don't tend to lend themselves to bassy sounds, unless they are Tracey Chapman. She is great.

Strangely I've started to enjoy somemore recent female singers like Lana Del Rey, Haim and Jesse Ware, but I am more drawn to male voices, but not falsetto, there was alot of that in the 80s.
