Okay guys, this is the best idea I can come up with and I think it's good. Read it and have a think - I don't think that this needs to be drawn out into another long discussion - I know a lot of people are getting sick of it. After this I will not put forward any more ideas - I think that time has passed anyway.

Here I go:
I think a real issue is what these new proposed forums will be called. We can't exactly name them Adult (immature) and17 Adult (mature), or Adult (sex) and Adult (no sex). It's all in the name.

I'm in favour of a 'Women's Issues' forum (for serious talks on preganancy, menstruation etc.). Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that men have been pretty good in the Women's Forum thus far. They are polite and respectful if making a topic there, and the majority are well behaved from what I've seen. I also think a Men's Issues forum would be a fair idea, but wonder if it would get enough numbers.

For all the less-than-serious topics, whether they be 'adult', 'men', 'women' or whatever, I think we need a new forum to accommodate these. Sort of an 'Immature Mature' area, or just a free for all area just for adults (within boundaries of course). Here you can talk about sex, drugs and everything in between.

Then, you can create another separate, more structured, in-depth environment that people are asking for. This area would need to be moderated moreso, to ensure that the topics and discussions stay on track. I propose a serious discussion and fleshing-out of the posting rules for this place and agree upon them before we do anything. We need solid foundations if it is going to work.

This way, the division amoung adults wouldn't be based on age, but rather their maturity and interests (I'm 18 but would like to participate in some good, serious discussions, for example).

What about The Sex, Infantile, and Mature forums?

Though imo once people get to the mature horizon they start acting like kids again.

Snake Plissken would just use a Mach-10 to make room for more forums and use the number of bullet holes to label them :) And if people did not like it he would enter the world code and light up a cigarette.

One thing that's going to confuse people is
that the whole layout got mixed about by
the change. Expect some griping.

I suspect he's just indulging the people and seeing if it will be as good as they believe. It's a test run.

And yes Machine, that is right (LOL). He would punch in 666 and disable the WP's power supply. Then, when Alex went to present a tape about it he would press play and Cabbie's song would play and he would be very embarrassed.

Or as lousy as he fears.
Won't be able to get rid
of it easily, now that it's
here though.

It just feels too rushed to me. A hasty appeasement that wasn't planned well at all.

Yeah, but any quick patch isn't going to solve things.
The site may be in need of a complete overhaul,
and this gets people to be happier (one hopes)
until the time to do so becomes available.

As long as he is simply buying time for the creation of something new and greater instead of doing patch-jobs as holes keep emerging. Solve the roots of the problem, don't keep cutting the weeds!

I think the site is fine. What's the problem?

I would suggest a change in the BBS software.
There seem to be a number of problems with
this implementation, which I haven't seen on
others. Perhaps a related issue is adding
a hierarchal structure to the forum. This might
not even be possible with this software.

After feeling lost by the long massive front page of the forums. I got a good idea. We need a check box by each subforum. If we click it that forum become just a one line link. Thus taking up less vertical space.
