If you qualify, you could become a moderator.

How would I qualify to become a moderator?

You could be asked by those who are already moderators.

They'll look at your posts, to see if you have the ability to calm things down when things get tense.

If they see that ability, they might offer you the position.

You'll have to show this ability consistently for a considerable period of time, and not go off the deep end all the time if something offends you. Being able to keep calm despite being offended is important if one wants to be a successful moderator, and a success in life.

Yeah, not like the moderators on some other websites I can think of.

I also think you need to have an ability to not be provoked and react negatively if someone offends you or upsets you somehow, even if they are insulting you and not get involved in dramas.

I think if anyone wants to be a mod, start now by following the rules and being tough by not reacting negatively to members nonetheless and be helpful to other members. I think that is how it works here.

I also think as a mod, you must not fly off a handle or else that will make members jaded and they will have a harder time asking for help or to ask questions when they don't understand a PM they got from them and have trust issues with the staff team. I know how uncomfortable I get with a mod when I hear bad things about them and how they get nasty and see their hostile attitude to a member and them doing it to me would tell me how right everyone else was about them. Of course there will be members who will always disagree with a warning or mod decision and then whine about it elsewhere. But if I keep on seeing those complaints over and over from different people, then I start to think what I am hearing is true.
