Am experimenting with ad placement. There shouldn't be ads in the middle of posts. Only a single ad between the first & second posts of a thread. Where are you seeing ads in the middle of posts?

On this very thread, on the very first post, right beneath my writing, above the "PM", "Profile", "Report" buttons.

Campin_Cat, can you clarify the "didn't work"? What was the exact URL of the extension you tried to install (not the main page, but the download/install link you clicked) and the exact text of the error message you got? And your Firefox version.

For which thing? AdBlock, or your code?

To install your code, I used your directions from your Nov.23 post:

viewtopic.php?t=271051

I don't think I got an error code when I got your code. It's in "Stylish"----it just hasn't changed anything on this site. I went to the Stylish Control Panel, or whatever it's called, and your code is "Enabled", and everything. Am I missing a step, or something? I have version 12, Firefox browser.

If you're asking about AdBlock, unfortunately I didn't copy and paste the error message.

Many----MANY----thanks to everyone who has, so patiently, been trying to help me!!

Oh----and I found my "Stop" button!! It's a toggle----you know, like when you push the "Play" button on a video, then it switches to a "Pause" button----at times, it's the "Refresh" button, then it's the "Stop" button.

Yes, OK, Firefox version 12 is quite old (released April 24, 2012), so I'm not surprised that many current extensions wouldn't work with it. As long as you're upgrading, why not download the latest stable version (34.0.5)? I'm afraid you'd only be wasting your time on troubleshooting any issues in the old version.

When I looked at "About Firefox", to doublecheck my version number, it started downloading something, so I just let it carry-on.... Now I've got version 34.0.5. Now I'm going to play-around on this latest version, to try and figure-out, everything. I'm determined to get your code to work, and get rid of the ads!!

Oh! Do you know how to stop everything from moving? (I'm guessing "Disable Java Script"----but, then your code won't work, will it??) The smilies move----the avatars move..... I disabled smilies so that they don't show-up in posts, but they're moving on this post page. I selected "Don't show avatars", but I really miss some of them----and, because the font / usernames are so small now, it helps to identify a poster (I know about "Zoom-In", and did that, already, to increase the font size----it messes-up the forum index page, though).

I once got that but after running an anti-malware program I got rid of them.

Okay, I tried installing AdBlock, again----and, IT WORKED!! WOO-HOO!! It's AMAZING how fast pages load, now----almost INSTANTLY!! Also, there's less scrolling needed----like, right after I post, and that other page turns-up, I don't have to scroll to see where it says "Your post has been entered successfully", or whatever it says.

Now I'm off to see what I can still do about that color changing code of FMX's. I'm particularly looking forward to the buttons being back in their original position.

Hey, FMX, do ya think you can make it so the smilies are back on the LEFTHAND side of the post page?

Glad to hear you got AdBlock working!

Here's a separate style for you that will put the smilies on the left.
