Well I'd like to say how I ended up finding this site.
I guess I would have to start about 2 years ago at the beginning of my sophmore year of high school. I was still in Marching Band at the time and due to the atmosphere of intimidation I was having a lot of minor nervous breakdowns.... about 1 every practice.... I've had these breakdowns in the past but never anywhere near this frequent.
I finally went to see a psychologist who diagnosed me with Asperger's Syndrome. Before this I had never heard of Asperger's Syndrome (or Autism for that matter) but after reading a bit about it I realized he was right.
As time went on I became determined to maximize the strengths of my syndrome and minimize my weaknesses, without the aide of any sort of medication. So far I have been successful, I have learnd how to channel my rage (wich could sometimes occur durring a breakdown), I aced a computer class without even working hard, and I even managed to ask a girl to prom (That was NOT easy!, even though she wasn't going I still felt a lot better after asking).
I still was completely oblivious to the aspie community that existed on the internet. Infact I didn't even know the term "Aspie" existed. But then my brother did a psychology paper on asperger's syndrome (he's a psychology major in collage) and found out about the whole thing in the processes of his research. He told me, and here I am today.
Some other things about me:
I'm 17 years old
I'm coming to the end of my junior year of high school
I play World of Warcraft
I proudly identify myself as a "Nerd" to my classmates
I am really good at computers and can learn things relating to computers faster then most people can teach
I am planning to go into computer repair for a career
Currently my cummulative GPA is 3.126 but this year I've been pulling something around a 3.6, so its going to go up substantially.
