Probably gonna quite voc rehab. Thoughts?

So I have been working with voc rehab for about 2 years. After the first year I moved to a bigger city that has 70,000 people. I dont have any degrees from college and cant drive due to a mild case of narcolepsy and of course have aspergers. Voc rehab tried looking for work in the computer field but there is no jobs out here and all the jobs wanted at least a bachelors degree. They then tried looking in the security field for the jobs around here you eather need to be able to drive or its from 8pm till 2am or later when the bus's dont run or you have to carry a gun and all that stuff. I dont really want to be armed. The type of security I would like to do is observe and report. So basically my jobs got boiled down to facing/stocking shelves at grociery stores. My VR couseler basically told me its this or no job. I am wondering your guyses thoughts?

Stocking shelves at stores doesn't seem to be a bad job, maybe try it for awhile?
Could you learn some trade skill and get some certification to be able to find a job beyond voc rehab jobs?

Can you do online college? A lot of schools will give you what is left over from your financial aid and sometimes that helps supplement a part time job.

I recommending looking on your own for a job. A lot of people don't know what vocational rehab is and if a person from there wanted to send over some people, they might be hesitant. They might focus on the "rehab" part, you know? That may sound stupid but that kind of thing happens alot.

Also, it could be that some employers just didn't like the vocational rehab person that's calling around for you. I used to work for an organization who had a terrible, rude woman that placed people in jobs. The good employers didn't want to deal with her so she kept coming up with awful jobs for people.

You should look up "civil engineering." It's a new field and there are a lot of online programs for it. A person in civil engineering could get a job planning roads or city structures. Lots of observing.
