Can anyone explain why some of the PMs I have sent are in my "outbox" while others are in my "sent messages" folder?

Are the ones in the outbox sent? If not, is there a way to send them?

This could be why I'm not getting some replies. :/

I think the outbox is for messages that haven't been read yet and then they become sent messages once they are read by the person that received them.
