Oh, they'll listen ... just long enough to evaluate you as someone who could cause trouble for other employees in the future, and then marginalize you insofar as promotions and raises are concerned.

I've seen it happen with people who admit to addictions, bankruptcies, depressive disorders, divorce, PTSD, and other personal issues deemed "Potentially Disruptive".

This is one of the reasons why I'll never come out at work as having an ASD.

At the end of his internship he didn't get the job as a QA tester. That's one of the easiest jobs on the planet. I was good friends with the manager of the QA department when I was working and I'd have my people help them test when we were caught up and they needed help. There was no training because it didn't require training.

He either didn't get hired because there was too much competition or he was discriminated against. There's no way he "didn't have the skills." I don't care what the company makes, there are no skills required.

Hence why he felt the need to talk about it, I guess. I'm now following him on LinkedIn. Let's see if he gets a job.
