Fnord, I'm not arguing with your definition of bullying but there's an implied message in this thread that there is no value in the counting threads (it's been called "brain-dead" and "dumb" so far). How do you think that makes people feel who actually derive value from the counting threads? ...
Go ask the people who called those names. As far as I am concerned, it's the "games" themselves that are pointless spam. Anyone who "plays" them may actually be very intelligent, but bored.

When I was using the counting threads I was going through a particularly stressful time in my life. I may have been bored but it also gave my mind a rest from my troubles.

I apologize if I insinuated that you, in particular, were bullying. It just seemed like everyone was ganging up on something I really benefitted from and I got upset. You have been very fair in your posts and I've always respected your thoughts on matters. I still disagree that these posts are spam or pointless.

This thread is the first time I have not ignored those threads in the over 2 years I have been a member here.

I see it as harmless fun.

I don't see anything violating this definition. Many members participating thus not unwanted.

Some people just enjoy counting. Let them enjoy themselves.

I don't personally go into those threads.

They only annoy me when they come up on my posts list. I'm not personally interested in them whatsoever, but if people like them then I don't think it'd be right of me to tell them to stop as it's not really effecting me at all. I just automatically ignore them.

My opinion? They're incredibly annoying and spammy, but they should still be allowed... Albeit in their own subforum that I can choose to filter from the "view posts since last visit" link.

I loathe them, but whatever, getting rid of them would cause more harm than good.
