a year? I'm considering majoring in either Economics, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or Biology, and getting a minor in Islam studies, and making my day job something that could pay the bills, and as a night job, I study Qur'an and hadeeth and becoming a scholar of Islam...... Or should I be a scholar or clergy (sheikh or imam) full time?

Engineering would be your best bet.

Religious scholars don't make too much money--unless they're PhDs, and they're professors. Or unless they tutor for hours and hours.

As far as clergy: It depends on lots of things--including the wealth of the diocese in which they serve.
