Enterprise was a really good show, out of all the series, it's the most believable. Plus there's a sense of excitement throughout because this crew is poking around the galaxy for the first time. They also had excellent character dynamics, I'll probably catch a lot of hell for saying this, but I think Enterprise was the best series.

I though it was the best series as well.

By far, Star Trek: The Next Generation. Not many high school seniors watch Star Trek (well, besides the Chris Pine remake movies) but I will take Picard, Riker, Worf, Data, Geordi and Wesley Crusher any day. Oh, and I almost forgot Troi. A lot of the earlier episodes were good, like Where No One Has Gone Before and Where Silence Has Lease. Some of the later episodes like Timescape were really entertaining.
Star Trek TOS and Voyager are #2 and #3. Haven't watched enough DS9 and Enterprise to give an opinion.

I'm definitely one of the 'high school seniors' you describe. I had never even heard of Star Trek until the 2009 movie came out, which I found quite entertaining, it kind of felt like the Star Wars prequels done right (I was 14 at the time). Soon after, a local TV channel started rerunning TNG and I was immediately hooked, and I am now a fan of all the shows. People often complain about the wooden, unrealistically perfect characters in TNG, but unlike the other series (except perhaps DS9), every single character is properly developed and has their fair share of character-building episodes, and this includes minor characters (Ensign Ro, Reg Barclay, Lwaxana Troi, O'Brien and his family, etc.) as well as characters who left the show early (Tasha Yar, Wesley Crusher). Compare this to the likes of TOS and Voyager. My biggest gripe with Voyager is that after they introduced 7 of 9, the next two seasons was episode after episode focusing on 7 and the Doctor, while the rest of the crew basically got shafted and became second-class citizens. Likewise my biggest problem with TOS is how they only focused on the trio while the rest of the crew is 'just there', they have their moments, but no real character development.

Like I said, I like all the series, they all have their pros and cons, but if I had to rank them I would do so as follows, I could go into detail about this, but I won't just yet.

1: TNG
2: TOS
3: Voyager
4: DS9
5: Enterprise

Bear in mind that I still haven't really seen enough of Enterprise to weigh it up against the other series.

Thanks for the up-vote ZD; Enterprise is no longer tied for last. I liked it because it was the most believable, yet still had that Star Trek charm.

I've seen everything except Voyager and Animated Series; Voyager was just hard to get in to.
