Hi there, I'm new. Possibly undiagnosed aspie.
You may call me Shiro. I don't actually know if I have asperger's syndrome or not, but that's why I'm here.
Ever since I was a kid, I've known that something is different about me. I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was six, so maybe that's it, but I feel like my problems go beyond what someone with ADHD would have.
The most noticeable problem I face is connecting with others. I've learned enough about body language to make friends and get invited out, but to connect with someone on a deep level is frustratingly difficult. I've successfully flirted with women(I even had a reputation as a ladies man in one group), but I find I can never get past the flirting stage into something deeper. Friends are much the same: they enjoy my company, but I rarely connect with someone enough that they consider me a good friend.
Others have described me as being cold, but I'm actually a very emotional person. I get really involved in fictional characters, to the point that a good story can make me go from laughing to bawling very quickly. Yet I have trouble opening up to others without making them uncomfortable, so I never try anymore.
I don't want to make this introduction just about my problems, so I'll stop there. Here are my main interests:
- Anime and Manga
- Computers - I'm trying to turn it into a career.
- Programming - More of a recent discovery. I only know HTML and I'm learning C++.
- Writing - Mainly fiction.
- Reading - Both fiction and non-fiction.
- Video games - Lately it's only when friends want to play something, but I've played a lot of RPG's.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I'm hoping to stick around for a while, and maybe interact with some of you around the site. I likely won't be super active, though, because I'm rarely active on forums.
^Hi and welcome! I'm the smiley sunshine kitten girl around here!
You can call me Kura or Skitty [I seem to have a lot of nicknames!] What sort of Anime/Manga do you like? I only like CLAMP and Claymore. Oh! So you're a writer like me!
I like fantasy RPGs best [Pokemon, Fire Emblem, Final Fantasy, Rune Factory, ectc].
Nice to meet you! Feel free to pm me if you would like to chat!

I like a lot, but I do really like Claymore. Especially the manga.
Wow! That's great! I love the manga! Do you have favourite characters? Claymore helped me through some tough times.

Welcome to the forum!
Have you taken medicine for the ADHD and has it helped the interactions? Or has the interactions with others stayed the same despite being on medication? When I was on adderall it made me much more outgoing and chatty, but to the point I'd be talking more than actually getting things done. It did make me have too much energy and anxiety, so now I take strattera.
I could chat up anyone on adderall it was so weird. It helped me segway in to more meaningful conversations. But I felt anxious and had way too much energy >_<
So far so good with strattera, I think I prefer being on it than not being on anything at all.

^^^I love Clare and Teresa best. Their story makes me sad, but in a good way. I have all 27 Volumes sitting proudly on my bookshelf!

It's been a few years since I've taken pills for ADHD, so I don't know how they'd affect me now. I was on Metadate CD, though, and something else for anxiety. The pills made me a lot less energetic and I felt really focused, so I think they made my interactions worse if anything.
That is interesting adderall had that effect. I've never been prescribed that myself.
