Anybody know how I can watch a topic for replies? I mean the thing that sends email notifications when new posts are made. It usually happens automatically if I post, but I can't seem to find a way of getting it to happen without posting. Sometimes I'm interested in a topic but have nothing to say at the time. Apologies in advance if it's blindingly obvious how it's done and my tunnel-visioned brain has missed it.

i'm pretty sure that "subscribe topic" on the top left of top post will get the job done.

it is distinct from "bookmark topic", that places the thread in a list you can come back to anytime.

Aha! Thanks. So it was blindingly obvious to anybody familiar with the meaning of the term "subscribe," which I wasn't. I seem to recall it used to be called "watch" and was located elsewhere on the page. Change trips me up again.

not a problem! i myself don't understand why the change of words was needed, but the function is intact at least.

It seems to be the way of all upgrades these days, which is one of the reasons I'll use Windows XP until my favourite websites have rendered it useless for surfing, which I fear won't be long.
