Do you have a shirt starting conversation story?

A few years ago my wife got me a Hawaii 5-0 film crew shirt. She was in Hawaii at the time.

Today a young film student asked me about it. He assumed I worked on the show. I have a background in theater and short stint writing and voicing a radio comedy series. We had a great talk on that and Comic-Con which was in town last weekend.

Do you have a shirt starting a conversation story?

Sorta.

I ordered a T-shirt from a site for jazz fans. The shirt was emblazoned with an old promotional pic of 1940's rhythm and blues pioneer Louis Jordan dressed like a genie (with a feathered turban) magically levitating a saxophone (probably taken for the "Aladdin" record label that he recorded on).

While attending an outdoor folks music festival an older Black guy (from the Jordan era) noticed my shirt and loved it.

Cool story.
I'm into old school blues and jazz.

A few of my shirts - a satyre of Sea Monkeys ala-H.P. Lovecraft, Reanimator, Marvel superheroes, and a couple of Darth Vader - in fact had struck up conversations from time to time.

Well sometimes people compliment me about t-shirts of metal bands I wear and talk about the band on it with me...or one time someone offered me 300$ for a patch vest I made, I refused the offer because the thing isn't worth money it has value to me.

I used to have a t-shirt that said "Jenius".

Sounds smart.
The first time I wore a Kansas shirt to my job in Missouri, I was asked if I knew about the dress code.
