I live at the centre of the Universe, in the City of Glasgow (on the outskirts of Clydebank)

I actually live in the suburbs of Denver, Colorado. The city I reside in has a population of about 80,000, but it is really just an extension of Denver. Because of its size and connectedness to Denver it is also considered a city. Once you leave the metro are and get into small farming communities that are sepate from the metro area and culturally self sufficient, then they are called towns. I am not aware of any formal political definition that destinguishes a city from a town. And we don't even use the words village or hamlet (except in referring to communities in other countries).

Very interesting...

Ditto I too live in Denver, Colorado. Actually, this is not a complete ditto because BrianR said he lives in a suburb of Denver and I actually live within the city limits of Denver. However, with this great definition of Denver I did not feel any need to repeat.

I would like to note that although Colorado does not use the term village some locations in the US do have, what I would call towns that they designate villages. This is usually in New England.

Ah is that where they keep the centre of the Universe? I am of Scottish ancestry so I might agree.

When I moved here, it was a large town. Now (by pop. #) it's considered a city. I still think of it as a town though.
