It would help if you gave the exact message because no one is banned from the room. Sorry about your difficulties.

You're not banned from the specific room #wrongplanet, but the server that the chatroom is hosted on is blocking you because you have open proxies. That means you're open to all kinds of connections from other computers. It's usually caused by a virus on your system that's trying to spread through chatrooms, which is why Freenode (the Wrongplanet chat server) isn't letting you in.

Try running a virus scan with AVG Free.

Ah that explains it then cos there has been a virus on this computer for about a week and i havent been able to get rid of it. I did do a virus scan, but the virus seems quite smart - it turned one of my own files into a decoy, so that the virus scan removed the decoy insted of the virus.

If you know the name of the virus you can look it up at some place like the Norton web site and perhaps download a repair utility, or get instructions on how to remove it. The other possibility is that you might have to reformat your hard drive.

No, i dont no the name of the virus, but the way it got into my computers quite creative, so you mite be able to identify it from that. I was chattin to sumone on msn, and i got a message askin if sumat was me, and a link with my address at the end of it, and when i had a look at the link it put the virus onto my comp.

Sorry, can't identify it from that. When you did a virus scan did it find the virus?

You might want to try running this:

No. It didnt find the virus. At first i thort it had, but then the computer continued to show simptoms of infection, and i started to miss another peece of software - the virus had turned this software into a decoy, so that the virus scanner wood get rid of that rather than the virus itself, i think.

As for mcafee, its the antivirus program this computer has anyway.
